Kedrion-supported scientific symposium at the MANIT Conference in Hungary

Kedrion Biopharma continues its commitment to the study of dysimmune neurological diseases, promoting the education of medical and scientific communities in this field. With the goal of helping local clinicians advance their knowledge in the areas of diagnostics, clinical practice and therapeutic approaches, Kedrion attended the 2019 Hungarian Neuroimmunology Congress, one of the most important events in the field which attracted more than 200 experts from all over Hungary.

During the event, held in Visegrad on September 27-28, the company participated in a scientific symposium on the diagnosis of CIDP and its pitfalls, moderated by Edina Tímea Varga MD, Senior Lecturer at the Scientific University of Szeged, and chaired  by Prof. Giovanni Antonini, University La Sapienza, Rome. The symposium was a great opportunity for Hungarian opinion leaders to gain further insights into the practice of diagnosing CIDP in Italy.

Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP) is a rare disorder of the peripheral nerves characterized by increasing sensory loss and weakness associated with loss of reflexes. Its estimated prevalence ranges from 0.8 to 8.4 per 100,00 people. The cause of CIDP remains unknown, but there is data which supports the theory of it having an immune pathogenesis.

The congress served as a great opportunity for discussing various perspectives and for developing international cooperation.
